Description:
The Post-Processing Manager leads and optimizes our post-harvest operations, including drying, curing, & all downstream automation, including de-stemming, trimming, packaging. This role is critical in ensuring product quality, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee all post-harvest activities, ensuring adherence to quality standards, safety protocols, and regulatory compliance, including, but not limited to destem/bucking, automated trimming, automated pre-roll production, & automated packaging.
- Hire, lead, train, and manage post-harvest staff to maintain high performance and morale.
- Aid in the refinement of standard operating procedures (SOPs) for post-harvest processes.
- Track inventory for all equipment, consumables, & packaging.
- Work closely with Purchasing department to ensure that direct material inventory needs are proactively communicated to mitigate potential bottlenecks.
- Monitor and analyze daily production to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
- Ensure accurate documentation and reporting in compliance with internal standards, as well as state cannabis regulations.
- Support cross-functional projects related to process optimization, facility upgrades, or new product development.
- Operate and assist with the maintenance of automated machinery throughout the post-processing workflows including the Mobius, Leafy Pack, Roll-Pro, and other pieces of equipment that are essential to the functions of the department.
- At least 21 years of age, with the ability to obtain and maintain and Missouri Cannabis Agent ID.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
- Preferred fields include Mechanical Engineering, Business, Operations Management, or related disciplines.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing, production, or operations management.
- Cannabis industry experience is a plus.
- Minimum 5 years of experience managing & maintaining large scale manufacturing equipment, adhering to daily, weekly, monthly, & annual maintenance plans.
- Proven expertise in Lean Manufacturing, TPM, project management, and statistical problem-solving.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and ERP systems is highly desirable.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, regulated, and fast-paced environment.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks for long periods of time (i.e., destemming, trimming, packaging, both sitting & standing)
- Ability to work in extreme environmental conditions (bright lights, mechanical operations that require ear protection, hazardous environments requiring respirator usage etc.)
- Physical requirements include standing, bending and lifting up to 30+ pounds, climbing and working above shoulder height for extended periods, reaching while standing, sliding under machinery on creepers to perform maintenance, and pushing carts and wheelbarrows.
- Availability to work occasional weekends and holidays
- $60,000+, commensurate with experience.
