General Manager – Cannabis Dispensary | Swade Dispensaries | Missouri

Job Description:

We're looking for an experienced, driven General Manager (GM) to lead daily operations at one of our Swade dispensary locations. As GM, you'll own the full employee and customer experience — from hiring and coaching a high-performing team to managing P&L and ensuring compliance with Missouri Department of Cannabis Regulation (DCR) standards. You'll report directly to our Director of Retail Operations and play a central role in shaping what great cannabis retail looks like in Missouri.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Recruit, hire, and develop a knowledgeable, customer-first dispensary team.
  • Lead onboarding and ongoing training on cannabis products, medical cannabis program compliance, and HIPAA requirements.
  • Make informed recommendations on promotions, discipline, and terminations in partnership with Human Resources.
  • Manage dispensary financials, including budgeting, P&L tracking, and identifying opportunities to improve performance.
  • Oversee inventory control, seed-to-sale software compliance, and adherence to Missouri DCR packaging and labeling standards.
  • Direct opening and closing procedures, cash handling, security protocols, and surveillance systems.
  • Drive customer loyalty program participation, support local marketing initiatives, and represent Swade at community and industry events.
  • Conduct regular staff performance evaluations and create meaningful growth pathways for your team.
  • Analyze operational workflows to maximize efficiency and continuously raise the bar on the dispensary experience.
  • Lead or participate in compliance audits to ensure ongoing adherence to state and local regulations.
  • Serve as a brand ambassador for BeLeaf Medical and Swade — contributing to a positive, collaborative culture every day.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 21 years of age and ability to obtain a Missouri Agent ID.
  • Prior dispensary, cannabis industry, or high-volume retail management experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of cannabis compliance, inventory management, and customer service best practices.

Essential Functions:

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods (4+ hours), bend, squat, reach overhead, and lift up to 30 pounds.
  • Must be available for day, evening, weekend, and holiday shifts.
